The Wintergreen Boxwood is also known as the Korean Boxwood and they are a very cold-hardy evergreen shrub with tiny compact leaves that are often trimmed and shaped as low hedges and topiaries. These shrubs are often used in landscapes as the foundation and hedge planting but they also thrive as a houseplant in zones 4 to 9. They prefer bright sunlight and moist but well-drained acidic soils. In a pot, they need a lot of room, find a container twice the size of the rootball. Water when the top inch or two of soil is dry and keep them moist. They are very forgiving of pruning and can be trimmed whenever needed to maintain their desired shape. Shipping and handling can be very tough on live plants so please be sure to open and check your plant right away. Our team waters each plant before they are shipped and wrapped so they may not need to be water right away. Overwatering is one of the most common causes of the decline in indoor plants.
