I found my way to the legendary Preston Mill on the banks of the River Tyne where they have been milling oats since the sixteenth century. For days I stayed at this historic water-powered mill studying everything from their special method for toasting oats to the ancient milestones. I took this knowledge home with me to Bobs Red Mill and I am proud to say we have since perfected the art of stone grinding oats to make classic Scottish Oatmeal.
